The Twilight books could best be described as Young Adult fiction, sadly I’m much older than the target audience. It seems a lifetime since I belonged in the ‘teen’ category however, I loved this audio book. Maybe because the 17 year old me is still in there somewhere wanting to get out.

What made this book outstanding to me was that I couldn’t stop listening to it, it was hard to tear myself away from. The story really caught my imagination from the start and I had to keep listening until the very end. Since then I have replayed it many times and it still encaptivates me every time.

The book is a debut classic that should be on everybodys bookshelfs.

Bella moves from busy Phoenix to small town Forks where she spent some time with her Dad in the school holidays. She enrols in the local school and goes about trying to make new friends when she meets Edward who she immediately is interested in. She doesnt realise that Edward is a vampire, the closer she gets to him the more she puts herself in danger.

The style of this book is unique, shining a new light on what we traditionally think of Vampires; sure they are still seductive and they are immortal. Some things are timeless but what Stephanie Meyers does in the Twilight Saga collection is to present the vampires not as evil bloodthirsty monsters but as emotional beings. It seems like Meyers has given vampires back their souls.

The story is ultimately a gentle love story, a teen romance that has its ups and downs like any others. //

It’s difficult to understand how a movie that manages to make you feel down in the dumps in many instances can have you laughing out loud the rest of the way. Perhaps it’s because UP IN THE AIR is a movie crammed full of surprises and total knowledge of its main subject. Throughout the movie I was expecting the obvious conclusion and was surprised to get something completely different in return, but even UP IN THE AIR’s shocker scene, managed to make so much sense it’s difficult for me to understand how I didn’t see it coming. There’s no question in my mind UP IN THE AIR will be the movie future generations will look back in trying to understand this particular era we live in. It is quite simply a classic.
UP IN THE AIR is the story of Ryan Bingham, a businessman who spends most of his life on the road: in aeroplanes, hotel rooms and bars. His job is to travel from company to company firing people. He is never in one place very long, and he has no real relationships. He is even estranged from his own family. His main goal in life is to reach 10 million frequent flier miles, a number only 6 people have reached prior to him. His life is all about loyalty status and points. But suddenly, his company decides that they are going to try to fire people via internet video conferencing, instead of face to face. Bingham is going to be grounded, forced to live in Omaha, and to give up his jetset life-style.

Oh my, what will happen next?

The Blind Side story is the true story of 2009 Baltimore Ravens Player Michael Oher, and his remarkable escape from oblivion with the love and care of a rich white family in Memphis, Tennessee.

Michael Oher’s greatness, was first evident in his size and athletic ability and then in his courage to forget and move forward. Michael Oher, a kid who struggled with basic study skills and education, but scored a 98% in protective instincts. A tribute to his lifestyle and his ability to survive homelessness with little more than the shirt on his back, a pain on his face that couldn’t be explained.

Sandra Bullock plays Leigh Anne Tuohy, she deserves to be nominated for the best actress of the year for her performance in The Blind Side. Sandra Bullock is strong and she is funny and she is also outstanding at hiding the tears she sheds throughout the movie as her persona won’t allow her to be seen crying. No scene was more poigniant than the one where she makes a bedroom for Michael in her beautiful home with a chipperness that you would expect from a spunky Tennessee mother. Michael says, “I’ve never had one of these before.” she replies, “What, a room?” “No, a bed.” Michael says. She looks at him, stoned faced, gives a quick nod and exits the room, enters the bathroom, locks the door and although we don’t see it, we know exactly what she’s doing.

The Blind Side is a testament to what life is all about. The Tuohy families link to Michael Oher may have been a rare occurence, and that’s why there’s a movie about it, but if we all looked out for each other a little more, despite color prejudices, despite class prejudices and just showed a little love and extended a helping hand when we could, the world would be a better place.

Practically bankrupting nearly all of his opponents, his friend Wang bets him a game of “double or nothing” to try and regain his cash and loses. Jack wants his well earned money, but Wang explains he doesn’t have the cash on him and that’ll he pay later because he’s due to pick up a long, lost girlfriend from the airport.

Convinced Wang’s pulling something sly, Jack insists he drive Wang to the airport so they can stick together. However, at the airport Wang’s girlfriend is captured by the Lords of Death, a streetwise Chinatown gang. She is essential for an upcoming plan to revive a thousand year old Chinese sorcerer and bring him back to the world as a mortal again. So begins a daring adventure to rescue Wang’s girl and stop the ruthless operation that’s going on down in Little China. Teaming up with a cast of very different individuals, Jack and Wang delve deep into an uncovering conspiracy in which everything’s not exactly as it seems. Here comes big trouble.

This is one of my favorite action movies ever made, I love how the movie was put together. The comedy in it is very amusing, Kurt Russel and Dennis Dun really hit it off just like Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in Rush Hour. Though I feel this movie takes you on a more interesting adventure than Roush Hour. The fantasy atmosphere is just so intriguing and keeps your mind wondering what’s going to come next. Every time I watch this movie it makes me feel young again! It’s a must see if you are into fantasy and adventure.

Meanwhile, Bob Wiley is a recluse who is so afraid to leave his own apartment that he has to talk himself out the door.

When Bob is pawned off on Leo by a psychiatrist colleague, Bob becomes attached to Leo. Leo finds Bob extremely annoying. When Leo accompanies his wife Fay, his daughter Anna, and his son Siggy to a peaceful New Hampshire lakeside cottage for a month-long vacation, Leo thinks he’s been freed from Bob. Leo expects to mesmerize his family with his prowess as a brilliant husband and remarkable father who knows all there is to know about instructing his wife and raising his kids. But Bob isn’t going to let Leo enjoy a quiet summer by the lake. By cleverly tricking the telephone operator at the doctor’s exchange, Bob discovers the whereabouts of Leo and his family.

Despite his phobia about traveling alone, Bob somehow manages to talk himself onto a bus, and he arrives in New Hampshire. Leo’s vacation comes to a screeching halt the moment he sees Bob. With his witty personality and good sense of humor, Bob quickly becomes an annoyance to Leo, but not to Fay, Anna, and Siggy, because they think Bob is fun while Leo is dull. Fearing that he’s losing his family to Bob, Leo frantically tries to find a way to make Bob go back to New York, and it’s not as easy as Leo had hoped. Leo finds himself stepping outside the law to try to get Bob to stay away from Fay, Anna, and Siggy — Leo slowly goes berserk, and makes plans to kill Bob.

Hands down one of the most funniest movies I have ever watched. When Richard Richard Dreyfuss gets splashed by a car driving by with mud and says “Son of a bitchin’ Bob!.” I swear I almost pissed myself. You can expect a true kind of funniness from this movie just like Bill Murray’s other classic hits like Caddyshack or Stripes. It’s nothing like some of the stupid comedies of today, this one will have you rolling on the floor for a long time. Definitely recommend renting this or buying it, you won’t be disappointed.

The DEA busts one of the major players by the name of “Memo” Lucero and imprison him in the United States but then a major player named Diablo then takes over the business and now he is now the major player targeted by Vetter and his team. But when Vetter’s wife is killed in a botched hit organized by Diablo, he seeks revenge against those responsible and in the process has to seek help from the imprisoned Lucero in order to catch Diablo. But in the process, Vetter and Hicks have to fight their way up the chain to get to Diablo but it’s easier said than done when all Vetter can focus on is revenge.

A good two star movie that features Vin Diesel as a DEA agent. It’s kind of a downer, but has some good action scenes. Larenz Tate does a good job playing Diesel’s sidekick in this movie. Timothy Olyphant plays a good wacko just like he always does. Not a bad movie to watch if you like these type of payback movies.

King Max rules a wondrous realm of gigantic fuzzy monsters–but being king may not be as carefree as it looks! Filmmaker Spike Jonze directs a magical, visually astonishing film version of Maurice Sendak’s celebrated children’s classic, starring an amazing cast of screen veterans and featuring young Max Records in a fierce and sensitive performance as Max.

This is one of the most imaginative and thoughtful films I have ever seen. The book was a childhood favorite of mine, so of course I was curious to see how it would be adapted for film. It is certainly not a cut-and-dry adaption; Jonze takes it in his own direction visually, but I think he completely captured the wild and wonderful spirit of the book. I was awed by nearly every scene. The movie carries so much heartfelt emotion, from anger to joy to love. I know some people couldn’t stand it, but I think they just lacked imagination and an open mind. If you expect a trite and simple children’s movie that strictly adheres to the look and feel of the book, you will certainly be disappointed. But if you are open to experiencing the more raw and vibrant essence of the book, you might find something really special in this film. And the MUSIC! Must not forget the excellent soundtrack. There is so much to love here.

This movie was magical. I think what people don’t understand is that Max is imagining these creatures. So, their mannerisms, their speech is all coming from the imagination of a child. That’s why it seems “off”. They are saying and feeling what HE is feeling. Much like when you’re a child and you act out your hurt or frustrations through the voices of your toys. If you don’t understand this, then I can see how it would seem obnoxious. I thought it was beautiful. Max obviously had a lot going on in his little head and a lot of misplaced anger. Children can’t regulate their emotions, so of course he’s acting out.

Yes indeed, this movie is a far cry from the book, but it is really the book for all those that have grown up in an imperfect world.I have not seen in any of the reviews yet the connection to the absolute therapy this movie can bring to so many that have tragic pains in their past. As mentioned in the review title “This is a movie for those on the journey of life” The movie is about making progress and not staying where you are in the situation of your pain. The movie is very similar to Robert Bly’s “Iron John” Those familiar with the book and have loved it, will know what I mean. This movie is pure symbolism and metaphor for the journey of every wounded soul. I will forever love this movie..thank you Mr. Sendak, and thank you Spike Jonze.

I actually kept getting dizzy watching this movie. The DVD is a great buy.

I was sceptical at first about John Cusack in this movie but he did a decent job. Woody Harrelsons portrayal of the Endtimes conspiracy expert is also very convincing.

2012 is an amazing movie. The catastrophic special effects are absolutely amazing, and the story is hilarious. I was either laughing or exclaiming with surprise at the disasters the whole way through this movie. This was the funniest, most unusual comedy I have seen in the last couple of years.

2012 is the retelling of the Biblical flood story. Scientists detect the coming of the greatest solar event in the history of man, and realize that the world as we know it will come to an end. They tell the president and other heads of state, who, of course, keep it secret from the rest of the world. In a grand attempt to save mankind, great arks are built, in secret. But who will be selected to man these arks? Will the human race survive?

This movies is visually stunning. The disaster effects are amazing and actually feel believable. I loved California falling into the Pacific.

Not to say I didn’t love the other novels, New Moon just kept my emotions on edge and actually pushed me to tears. In my opinion, it was the most emotional Twiglight book in the series.

If you have read the Twilight series books & Twilight Audio Book series, you will be much more satisfied with this Twilight full movie. With the second movie, there is a whole new feel and respect for the eventual twists in the twiilight story. This movie is just a really good movie, even if you are not a reader of the books. The real winner of this film, however, is the complete faithfulness to the source material.

Twiligt New Moon has the benefit of a bigger budget, more action scenes, and more suspense. The same cast we love are back playing the same characters. Edward is still gorgeous, and thinking of what’s best for Bella. Stephanie Meyers character Bella is prettier, more mature, and when her heart was breaking, mine was too. Jacob is looking good with a new body, a new haircut, and finds out he really IS descended from wolves. Alice is still sweet, Carlisle is still kind, and Charlie is still the loving dad. There are some great scenes from Italy, and the vampires really look like vampires.
